Woodland — More than 600 students from Woodland, Kalama and La Center received free backpacks filled with school supplies at Woodland Public Schools’ third annual Back to School Bash. Catherine Pulliam, a counselor at Woodland High School, organized this year’s Back to School Bash by lining up donors and volunteers, with 17 community partners attending the event. Around 2,000 students, parents, guardians and community members attended, with 598 backpacks handed out at the event and more given out the week following the bash from the Family Community Resource Center. Every attendee received a free dinner, played board games, used bounce houses and participated in raffles.
