Letter: Stuck at home? Take a cut

I needed a haircut, bad. But my wife and I were suffering in place and my regular barbershop was closed, so I asked Laurette (that’s my wife) to try a homemade haircut. First she looked shocked, and then she gave me a great big smile. What a girl I married!

The first day of the cut was bumpy. We managed to hack off a pile of hair from one side, and then the trimmer died. I checked the mirror and that third was much shorter with only one bald spot up above my ear. Hardly noticeable. The second day we chopped the back and other side. Things went much better. Laurette was even giggling occasionally as she swung the trimmer. On the final day, she worked at blending in the bald patches. I recommend a homemade haircut to everyone; it’s rejuvenated our relationship. When Laurette looks at me, she smiles. Makes me happy, too.
