A person was killed overnight in a police shooting outside an Oregon coast drugstore.
Lincoln City police said officers were involved in a shooting in the parking lot of a Rite Aid store just off U.S. 101 late Thursday. One person, referred to by police only as “the suspect,” died at a hospital. No officers were hurt.
No information about the circumstances of the encounter has been released.
The shooting is under investigation, and the involved officers have been put on paid administrative leave, which is standard protocol after police shootings.
