Letter: Negativity, divisiveness harmful

My problem with the letter recommending the replacement of the governor of Washington (“Inslee has done nothing,” Our Readers’ Views, April 1) is using the president as a model leader. Our current president sets an extremely low bar for competence and leadership.

However, whether it is done by Republicans or Democrats, I have always felt that the use of politics, the blame game or the pointing of fingers should not be done in a time of serious crisis, which the current COVID-19 virus situation can clearly be described.

At this time, we are all Americans first. I do not care if my neighbors believe as I do, I will help them if needed. We need to be together and support each other no matter our politics and, especially now, we do not need either negativity or divisiveness at this moment. It is not helpful.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
