MOUNTAIN VIEW — Holley Walhood helps run the hot meals program at Share House in Vancouver. Like many around the world, she has been feeling helpless during the COVID-19 pandemic, so on March 20, she made a sign. “The world is suffering at the moment, and I was feeling a bit helpless over the fear and pain that is overwhelming so many,” Walhood said in an email. “I wanted to share that we all need to put more love into the world and find creative ways to take care of one another.” Working on her living room floor, Walhood used a pink sheet and Christmas ribbon to create the large blanket-sized sign that says: Sending (heart symbol) to the world! “It took me many hours, probably four or five hours. I went through all of my hot glue sticks, about 30 of them, then I sewed some by hand to secure them better,” Walhood said.
