Washington State University will review freshman applications for the fall 2020 semester without an SAT or ACT score.

Disruptions due to the novel coronavirus have prompted the cancellation or postponement of college placement exams.

“Standardized tests do not necessarily predict an individual student’s success at a university or college,” WSU Vancouver said in an announcement about the move. “More and more institutions of higher education are giving prospective freshmen the option of omitting standardized test scores.”
