Letter: Work for good of country

Let me begin by thanking President Donald Trump and Gov. Jay Inslee both for loving and serving the United States of America. I want to believe this is true since they both give so much to serve. Please help me to understand why when they both love our country that they cannot put your dislike of one another aside during this time? I am a child of God, a citizen of the United States of America, a resident of Washington, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, a friend, an employee, a taxpayer and a lover of my country.

President Trump, I respect your office and what it stands for, but I am deeply offended by remarks about our governor, Jay Inslee. Washington is part of the United States of America, and your dislike of our governor should be just that: your dislike. When you hold back help for our state because of your dislike, do you not understand that you include all people who live and work in Washington?

Our state is suffering as well as our country. Why can’t our leaders lay aside personal likes and dislikes for the good of our country?
