Letter: Vote for Ridgefield

By Joseph Vance, Ridgefield
Published: August 2, 2020, 6:00am

The Ridgefield School District bond is critical for the continued success of the school district. Passing the bond will allow for a third elementary school to be built and opened by January 2022. Initially the new school would serve K-6 pupils and would provide much-needed relief from overcrowding not only at the two existing elementary schools but also at the middle school.

It is also significant that there is more than $12 million in state funds available to help with the construction costs of the new school.

If we fail to pass the bond it is likely that Ridgefield will lose those state funds.
