Letter: Voting is easy, entertaining

A few days ago my wife and I sat down to read the voter guide and vote. I must say its has been the most entertaining hour, and it proves we live in one of the freest countries in the world. Anyone can run for office, and should. It’s their abilities and experience that need to be known, and you do have to start somewhere.

I would say the most entertaining line printed was at the bottom of the page: “Candidates’ statements are printed exactly as submitted and are not checked for accuracy.” Presentation is everything, and it’s up to the voters to review each statement. It causes some concerns with some of the statements. But it does make good reading.

The best part is voting by mail. No rush, no fuss.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
