Woodland Public Schools leaders joined Cowlitz County school district and health officials in recommending a remote start to the school year.

The school board will consider the district’s distance learning plan at its Aug. 12 meeting, according to a district news release. The Cowlitz County Department of Health recommended all area school districts start their year remotely as cases of the novel coronavirus trend upward.

Clark County school districts last week announced they’d all recommend a remote start to the school year. School campuses in Washington have been closed since March 13 as the novel coronavirus pandemic continues.
