ESTHER SHORT — On July 23, Open House Ministries celebrated its annual Hope in Motion event to benefit families that stay at the shelter. This year, the fundraiser was televised and streamed through Facebook due to COVID-19. Eric Sawyer from BBSI Preferred Payroll was the event’s emcee, while Kessid Church donated its time for recorded segments of the event. “The outpouring of generosity by our friends and community partners not only exceeded our goal for the evening but brought the compassion of our community to the forefront of the event and we are truly grateful,” a newletter reads. “We want to thank the residents who bravely told their stories and shared their lives with our audience, bringing testimony to the life-changing work happening each day at Open House Ministries.” The event was recorded and can be viewed at www.sheltered.org.
