Letter: Herrera Beutler stays silent

By Don Howard, Camas

Did you notice that during the election, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler was constantly sending out mailers and emails putting herself out front? After the election President Trump was challenging the results with dozens of frivolous lawsuits which Republican Judge Brann described as “Frankenstein’s Monster.” These lawsuits were attached with no evidence and rightfully tossed out.

Our democracy was under direct assault while Trump was withholding presidential transition during a killer pandemic putting even more Americans at risk. Some Republicans were beginning to speak out, but partisan Herrera Beutler remained silent. That’s Jaime: now you see her and then you don’t.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
