The city of Vancouver released a new database of Vancouver restaurants in an app interface called Street Eats, at www.cityofvancouver.us/streeteats.

The app shows a map of nearly 50 local restaurants that are open and have outdoor and covered seating. It works on cellphones and desktop computers. Since it launched a week ago, it’s seen about 1,100 views, according to a news release from the city of Vancouver.

“Restaurants and retail are among the hardest hit by COVID-19 restrictions and health precautions,” said Teresa Brum, economic development manager for the city of Vancouver. “Statewide, over 2,500 restaurants have closed since March, and 75 percent of those are the locally owned restaurants that have been an important part of our communities for years.”

Restaurants that wish to be included in the app are encouraged to submit a request at www.cityofvancouver.us/streeteats.
