An early morning fire heavily damaged a house Wednesday in Salmon Creek, according to Clark County Fire District 6.

The fire was reported at 2:40 a.m. in the 14200 block of Northwest 29th Avenue north of the Salmon Creek Greenway, according to a fire district statement and dispatch reports.

Firefighters arrived to find a three-level home fully involved in flame, with fire shooting out of the front of the home and from under the eaves. Three residents and one dog had already evacuated.

It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control, using personnel from five engine companies, one truck, two squads and two battalion chiefs, according to the statement.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal, but initial evidence suggests it started in or near the home’s living room, the statement said.

No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was called in to assist.
