Letter: Thankful for the newspaper

By Heidi Brandenburg, Vancouver

For the past eight or nine months I have meant to write this letter. I just wanted to thank the staff at The Columbian for their amazing efforts to not only report the news, both locally and nationally, but to be so mindful of the hard time so many are going through during this pandemic.

Especially the staff at the Life section, Food department. You have stepped up so amazingly, to put in recipes that use everyday basic items from saltine crackers to hamburger. How to make a meal go further, how to bake things from scratch, a talent not everyone was taught.

These efforts have not gone unnoticed. Thank you. It’s one more reason why I still love to walk out to my curb (almost) every morning and get my local paper.

Keep up the good work.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
