Letter: Serving up sour grapes

By Richard Atkins, Camas

“Incensed” would be too mild a word to express my feelings about an administration that would roll back legislation requiring healthy ingredients in school lunches and replace them with less expensive, high-fat, high-sugar and salt-filled products. But the real kicker is the date chosen to make this announcement: Jan. 17, Michelle Obama’s birthday. I hope the American public can recognize how flawed a personality must be to take such an action and time it to be an insult. Insecure, jealous, intentionally mean-spirited and lacking maturity. This is the behavior of the leader of our nation?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
