NORTHWEST — Benjamin Franklin Elementary School second-grader Keoni Ching raised $4,015 to help pay off his classmates’ outstanding balances on their lunch accounts. The 8-year-old made the beaded keychains by hand and sold them for $5; he sold Seahawks-themed keychains for $19.77. He started the fundraising journey after being inspired by former Seahawks football player and current San Francisco 49ers player Richard Sherman, who donated $27,000 to districts in Washington and California to pay off lunch debts. Ching plans to distribute the funds raised to six other schools in the area, including $1,000 to Benjamin Franklin, according to CNN.
