Needing a win to continue its season, the Skyview boys basketball team didn’t blink.

The Storm used hot shooting from 3-point range to beat Enumclaw 61-35 in a bi-district play-in game Monday at Olympia High.

The Storm join 4A Greater St. Helens League rivals Union and Battle Ground in the bi-district tournament, which starts on Wednesday.

Skyview coach Matt Gruhler said high-intensity league games against Union and Battle Ground prepared his team for the postseason.

“Our guys are feeling used to playing with a bit of pressure,” he said.

Enumclaw sagged its defense to focus on Skyview leading scorer Kyle Gruhler. That opened shots from the outside, and Skyview didn’t miss.

Skyview (15-6) made six 3-pointers in the first quarter to take a 25-11 lead. Squeeky Johnson had five of Skyview’s 12 3-pointers, including three in the first quarter, and finished with 15 points.

Sean Boss added 12 points, including four 3-pointers. Jace Chatman had 13 points while Kyle Gruhler had eight points, 14 rebounds and five assists.

Drew Kuzaro scored 11 points to lead Enumclaw (10-13).
