Letter: Planned Parenthood worth support

I am writing about my concerns surrounding Planned Parenthood and whether it should be funded by the government. Millions of people each year use Planned Parenthood. It is a beneficial organization that many rely on.

This organization provides beneficial low-cost health care plans that low-income citizens otherwise would not be able to afford. They provide birth control, birth control education, pregnancy tests, sex education, STD screening and help for people who would like to continue with pregnancy.

If Planned Parenthood is de-funded, women won’t be the only ones who lose out. Although Planned Parenthood services mostly females, they also offer a variety of health care services for men as well. Men can visit clinics for prostate, colon and testicular cancer screenings. They also do vasectomies, male infertility screenings and other health service treatments.

I believe Planned Parenthood should be funded by the government. People who can’t otherwise get the help they need must have access to these services.
