I support the passage of the Federal Red Flag Law HR 1236 and urge readers to let Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, know they do too.
More often than most of us can comprehend, an innocent person’s life is taken by a deranged individual intent on their death. Domestic violence is very real across the United States. It happens here in Vancouver. This area also shows a high rate of teen suicide. Access to a weapon in a moment of despondency kills. This law will disarm people who might attempt suicide, attempt to harm or kill someone, or attempt a mass shooting.
These are just words but for those who die, or families that suffer by the needless loss of a family member or friend, their lives are forever changed and words make no difference. Please use your words and voice now to do what can be done to try and stop these tragedies.
