The Chieftains went on a 10-minute scoring drought in the second half, while Black Hills couldn’t miss and 2A Greater St. Helens League champion Columbia River is done for the season with the loss in the 2A district tournament.
Columbia River (17-5) was ahead 41-36 about 2 minutes into the third quarter.
“And for the rest of the quarter and most of the fourth, we only scored 1 point,” Columbia River coach David Long said. “We just went on a drought and they hit everything in sight.
“We had great shots. We just missed them.”
Long said the Chieftains shot 31 percent for the game while Black Hills (17-6) made 62 percent of its shots.
Nate Snook led River in scoring with 26 points.
