Letter: Pitch in for Meaningful Movies

It has been nearly two years since Meaningful Movies at Cascade Park has screened a documentary movie. We hope, over the course of the next several months, that situation can be turned around. It is looking very much like we will have access to a terrific venue located in the Hazel Dell area in which to screen future documentaries.

The only catch is that the organization providing the venue will not be able to supply people to do the work planning, acquiring media, taking care of the website and setting up for the events. Our hope is to find the people who are willing to undertake those tasks. To that end, we are having an organizational meeting at the Vancouver Community Library in downtown Vancouver at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, in the Skamania Room.

The Meaningful Movies Project provides a lot of resources and assistance to help startups. It is a very rewarding endeavor, especially considering we live in times when good information is so critically important and documentary film fills a unique niche for its delivery.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
