The tower crane at the Kirkland Tower and Hotel Indigo at The Waterfront Vancouver is coming down after about 13 months in use downtown.

The crane was set to come down at the end of October due to height restrictions from Pearson Field. Dean Kirkland, chairman of Kirkland Development, was able to negotiate a deal to keep it up throughout the winter, he said in October.

Kirkland Tower, a 12-story condominium building, and the eight-story Hotel Indigo are scheduled to open this fall. The joint buildings will feature a rooftop bar, plus Naked Winery and flagship tenant El Gaucho steakhouse on the bottom floor. Three more ground-level retail spaces are still available for lease.
