Haylie Johnson scored 16 points with five 3-pointers as the No. 14 seed Camas Papermakers played their way to the Tacoma Dome with a 56-42 win over No. 11 seed Lake Stevens on Saturday at Shorewood High School in Shoreline.

“The lights were bright and she just kept shining,” Camas coach Scott Thompson said of Johnson.

After leading by just 23-22 at the half, Camas was able to pull away thanks to a 23-4 third quarter. The Papermakers made six 3-pointers in the quarter.

“The press started to get to them, the shots were falling, and everything went our way,” Thompson said.

Jalena Carlisle was also in double figures for Camas with 10 points.

The Papermakers (16-11) will now face No. 6 Glacier Peak (21-3) in a loser-out game at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Tacoma Dome.

The state regional game was originally scheduled to be played at Jackson High School in Everett, but a student tested positive for the new coronavirus and the school was closed Friday. The WIAA moved the game to another venue.
