After 14 years of ownership, the founders of Kazoodles toy store, 13503 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., in east Vancouver, sold their business to the store’s manager.

Co-founder Bob Sisson made the announcement Wednesday on Facebook, writing that “it’s a bit sad to leave something we’ve worked hard to build, as well as the families we’ve met and the toy store owners around the country (Canada, too) who’ve become our friends.”

The new owner, Leah Pickering, has a background in retail management at Fred Meyer, and her son, Ike, works at Kazoodles with her.

Co-founder Mary Sisson wrote in the latest Kazoodles newsletter, “We’ve always said we hope Kazoodles will be around for a long, long time. We know that our ‘baby’ is in good hands with Leah.”
