Dale Lewis, a former deputy district director for U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, joined the Port of Longview staff Monday as director of external affairs.
He replaces Ashley Helenberg, who will continue working at the port but is stepping down into one of the external affairs department’s vacant positions.
As the department’s director, Lewis will oversee management of port communications, including government relations, maritime and marketing communications and community relations.
Lewis will be formally introduced to the port commissioners Wednesday.
