Vancouver-based river barge company Tidewater has a new leader. The company’s board of directors announced Wednesday that it has selected Todd Busch to be the company’s new CEO and president, effective Jan. 16. Busch succeeds retiring president and CEO Bob Curcio, who has served in the role since 2013.

“It is very exciting for me to be joining Tidewater,” Busch said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing the company’s keen focus on operational excellence, safe operations, regulatory compliance, customer service and continued growth.”

Busch previously served as a senior vice president and general manager of Crowley Marine Corporation in Jacksonville, Fla., and he brings more than three decades of experience from that company.

Tidewater Holdings Inc. is a transportation, terminal and marine construction company that serves the Pacific Northwest region, particularly transportation along the Columbia and Snake rivers. The company began in 1932 as a barge line primarily for shipping wheat.
