Letter: Waste at TriMet raises red flag

By Joe Blatner, Vancouver

The city of Vancouver should look at the review of TriMet in Portland to see that we don’t need light rail in Vancouver. I realize these so-called city officials don’t listen to the citizens, but, to see what waste is being committed by TriMet should be a red flag. They showed that the new WES Line, people pay $2.50 to ride, but it cost taxpayers over $18 per ride in operating costs. We don’t need to subsidize the riders.
