ESTHER SHORT — Fort Vancouver Lions Club member and FISH of Vancouver member David Rich recently received 484 reading glasses from the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation. The glasses were provided to FISH of Vancouver clients for free. “Just because you are poor does not mean you do not have the right to see,” Rich said in a news release. Rich, immediate past president of the local Lions Club, started the program last year through FISH. More than 400 pairs of glasses have been donated to those with vision problems. Rich and his wife volunteer at FISH of Vancouver, a nonprofit that provides free emergency food, each Thursday. FISH provides food to 1,350 households each month, according to its website, fishvancouver.org.
