Earning her first start since returning from an off-season knee injury, Sydney Flores-Tucker powered Columbia River with 12 points, as the Chieftains cruised to a 50-30 win over Ridgefield in Thursday’s 2A Greater St. Helens League girls basketball game.

Flores-Tucker, a reigning all-league guard, suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in her knee in the off-season. She made her season debut last week against first-place Washougal.

“She really worked hard to make it back,” head coach Will Jones said. “To lead us in scoring her second game back is remarkable.”

Dejah Wilson and Jordan Ryan each chipped in eight points for the Chieftains.

River remains one game back of league-leader Washougal in the 2A GSHL standings.

Kelli Krsul led Ridgefield with 10 points.
