Letter: Get word out about fireworks ban

The fireworks ban obviously did not work, at least in our neighborhood. The last explosion was at 1:20 a.m., because many say they were unaware that the ban existed. I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Here’s an idea: pre-holiday, the city could put up signs along well-traveled streets reminding people that fireworks are against the law in the city limits. They could be retrieved post-holiday and used again. This would be a simple and very inexpensive way to make people aware, just in case they forgot, that a ban is in place and they are subject to a fine if they break the law.

Sounds like a simple solution and it just might work.
