Letter: U.S. killing its roots

It is a country that is investing more and more in revisionist history by the destruction of historical monuments and the realignment of historical facts to fit ideological agendas.

It is a country that more and more encourages the stifling of free speech, particularly in the media and in educational institutions, by censoring and threatening speakers who do not conform to certain ideological platforms.

It is a country that more and more redefines the plain meaning of words, such as “sex,” “race” or “justice” in order to weaken the reality those words represent.

It is a country that more and more has no place for forgiveness.

It is a country that more and more has no place for the free exercise of religion.

It is a country that is investing more and more energy into killing its roots, thinking that will cure the tree.

Is the name of that country the United States of America? Or is the name of that country Venezuela?

Yes.
