Letter: What’s next for vulnerable nation?

At the height of the pandemic I kept hearing, “I can’t wait until this is over.”

To myself, I kept thinking, “This won’t be over soon. Also, there is most likely another storm waiting just offshore, building speed and velocity.”

I had hoped we would have time to get past the worst of the worldwide health crisis. I was wrong.

Now we are in the middle of the worst civil unrest that the country has seen in decades, during the worst disease outbreak in over a century. Out of the cops involved with George Floyd’s death, how many do you think feel guilty? If anyone thinks there might be an end to the current hell we’re now living in, I hope they are right.

I’m afraid there is another disaster waiting to happen, at a time when we are at our most vulnerable.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
