The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Tuesday that a 7-year-old girl died in a murder-suicide.

The bodies of Lennox A. Maul and 40-year-old John T. Maul, both of Vancouver, were discovered Friday.

Lennox’s manner of death was ruled a homicide caused by a gunshot wound, according to the medical examiner. Maul died by suicide, also from a gunshot wound.

Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Brent Waddell confirmed the incident was a murder-suicide but said no further information would be released at this time.

Deputies, firefighters and medics responded around 9 p.m. Friday to the 10200 block of Northwest 20th Avenue, for a report of a suspicious death investigation, according to emergency dispatch logs.

Court records show Maul and his former wife divorced in 2018, and the parents had an agreed-upon parenting plan.
