Two Vancouver residents were taken to a hospital and an Oregon woman was killed in a collision Monday on Highway 26 in Wasco County, Ore.

Oregon State Police troopers and emergency personnel responded about 11:40 a.m. to a crash on the highway near Milepost 85, according to an agency news release.

The preliminary investigation found that a white Mercedes Benz SUV, driven by Kathy Rayborn, 73, of Welches, Ore., was traveling east when it crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with a motor home, troopers said.

Rayborn was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the motor home, Richard Rydman, 76, and his passenger, Janice Rydman, 73, both of Vancouver, were taken to St. Charles Hospital in Madras, Ore., the news release states.

Troopers were assisted by the Warm Springs Police Department, Warm Springs Fire and Rescue, and Oregon Department of Transportation.
