Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist Saturday in east Vancouver.

Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said a car had stopped at a stop sign on Southeast 121st Avenue before continuing south across Southeast Seventh Street, when an eastbound motorcycle struck its passenger’s side. The motorcyclist was ejected onto the street, Kapp said.

There is no traffic signal for east and west traffic on Southeast Seventh Street at the intersection where the crash occurred.

Police officers arrived to find the motorcycle on fire and its unidentified rider in the middle of the street being treated by medics.

It appeared the rider’s injuries were not life-threatening, Kapp said.

The police department’s traffic unit is continuing to investigate.
