Local golfers among leaders at Oregon Junior Amateur

Moody, Bringhurst, Huntington finish qualifying in top 10

Three local golfers are among the top seeds entering the match play portion of the Oregon Junior Amateur in Woodburn, Ore.

Graham Moody of Vancouver, Eli Huntington of Camas and Cade Bringhurst of Ridgefield all finished Tuesday’s stroke play among the top 10.

Match play begins on Wednesday with the finals scheduled for Friday.

Moody, who recently finished his junior year at Mountain View High, finished qualifying in third place at 2-under. He shot 2-over 74 during the second round. He led the tournament after shooting 4-under on Monday.

Bringhurst, who just finished his junior year at Ridgefield High, finished tied for sixth at even par after shooting 1-under Tuesday.

Huntington, who just finished his freshman year at Camas High, finished qualifying eighth at 1-over.

Clark County golfers have a record of success at the tournament. Spencer Tibbits of Vancouver won the event in 2016.
