SEATTLE — Authorities say they have identified the remains of two people found inside bags at Duwamish Head in West Seattle.

The Seattle Police Department said Tuesday that detectives and the King County Medical Examiner’s Office have identified the individuals as a 36-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man.

Police responded to the area on June 19 after receiving a call about a suspicious bag on the beach. Another bag was found in the water, police said.

Police don’t believe this case is connected to any other investigations in the Puget Sound area. The names of the people have not been released.

An investigation continues.
