Letter: Choose Long for Congress

By Craig Walker, Camas

All this time, we thought that Jaime Herrera Beutler was hiding from her constituents, having not held town halls in years. But it’s now apparent that she’s not avoiding us, she is self-isolating — making herself immune to hearing from voters that her blind allegiance to Trump is not acceptable, especially from a woman.

Sorry to say, Jaime already is infected with Trump-itis. And no doubt, she will go along with Trump’s latest ploy to get re-elected: bribe the voters with more tax reductions, as they did three years ago. It’s time to bring Jaime home and send to Washington someone who thinks on her own, Carolyn Long. Jaime can remain in her self-isolation.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
