LINCOLN — About 40 people gathered around the intersection of Northwest 45th and Daniels streets to enjoy a neighborhood bagpipe concert by Victoria MacKenzie and “wingman” Lon Klugman, a pipe major for the Fort Vancouver Pipe Band, according to attendee John Vanvig. The event was in honor of St. Patrick’s Day; many events were canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. “It was a nice evening concert, though, and made my wife think of videos she’s seen online of self-quarantined people in Spain and Italy conducting concerts from their apartment balconies,” Vanvig said in an email.
