OAKBROOK — Students at Cascadia Montessori School recently helped paint a mural, 60 feet wide and 10 1/2 feet high, on an empty wall underneath the overpass at 87th Avenue that previously attracted graffiti. “Over the past many years, taggers have repeatedly put graffiti on the wall and then city crews come by and paint over the graffiti. This endless cycle costs the city labor … and paint,” said Pat Barry, a parent of a student at the school and user of Burnt Bridge Creek Trail, where the wall is located. Students in seventh- and eighth-grade classes helped with the project, which hopes to see completion sometime in the spring.
