WOODLAND — Holland America Flowers recently donated more than 6,000 bunches of tulips to nursing homes, hospitals and other care centers in the Woodland, Vancouver and Longview communities as a way to spread joy during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Everyone is affected by this disease, one way or another. We pray for those who have lost a family member, or are currently ill as a result of the COVID-19 virus. We can’t say enough thanks to everyone in the health care industry, who are working relentless hours to do what they can to save as many lives as possible. Our thoughts and prayers are going out as well to so many people who are facing some very tough and trying financial times,” a news release stated, adding that people may experience reduced stress levels and positivity from being surrounded by flowers. Recipients of the flowers included staff at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, Woodland Care Center, The Oaks at Timberline, Vancouver Specialty and Rehabilitation Care, and Beacon Hill Rehabilitation.
