Clark County adds six COVID-19 cases over weekend

Clark County Public Health confirmed six new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths Monday morning.

Since Public Health does not report new cases on Saturday and Sunday, the six cases are results from over the weekend.

Clark County now has 367 confirmed cases and 21 deaths — no new deaths have been reported since April 27.

At least 4,735 people have been tested for the virus in Clark County. According to Public Health’s website, the number of individuals tested is provided by the Washington State Department of Health and does not include people receiving rapid-result testing, which is becoming more common in Clark County. The number of positive tests includes all positive tests reported to Public Health, regardless of testing method.

There are 13 people hospitalized for COVID-19 in Clark County, according to data from Friday. Two people are in an intensive care unit.

There are 71 cases associated with long-term care facilities, either residents or staff.

There has been a decrease in reported cases recently. Last week had 34 confirmed cases. The week of April 20 that had 50 reported cases. And the week of April 13 had 57 confirmed cases.

Washington has 15,462 confirmed cases and 841 deaths, according to the state Department of Health. The majority of cases in the state are in Snohomish, King, Pierce and Yakima counties. A total of 212,005 people have been tested statewide, with 7.2 percent of tests returning positive for novel coronavirus.
