FELIDA — Around 50 people listened to a concert on April 19, hearing from the comfort of their driveways, front porches and yards.
The concert was performed by Hannah Glavor in honor of neighbor Nicci Wollam’s 43rd birthday.
“Yesterday, residents in the Shore Crest Neighborhood off Bliss Road celebrated a neighbor’s birthday with a singer who brought joy and hope to those listening to her songs,” neighbor Bob Silverman said in an email.
“Though we couldn’t all see each other, we were reminded of each other’s existence from the claps and hollers after each song,” Wollam, who attributed the concert idea to her husband, said. “Some neighbors who lived out of earshot pulled out their lawn chairs and set up in the street and on the sidewalk. We shared smiles and waves and the music was so good for our soul.”
The first concert was so popular, Wollam said, that the neighborhood is planning a COVID-19 concert series.
