Letter: Downtown storage is an ugly idea

I’m opposed to the seven-story storage facility planned near the waterfront. Kirkland Development has done a lot of good projects around Clark County but this isn’t their best idea.

Both the city and the county have been negligent in allowing several ugly storage places in recent years. Check out the “Death Star” behind Big Al’s Bowling Center, or the one on Southeast 20th Street east of 192nd Avenue. I’ve seen reasonably decent-looking storage facilities in other cities. Apparently local planners are enamored with ugly. The city can do better.
