Clark County had 69 new COVID-19 cases and one new death Thursday, according to data from Clark County Public Health.

The new fatality was a woman age 80 or older with no underlying health conditions, according to Public Health. Hers was the second death this week from COVID-19 and the 72nd since the pandemic began in March

The new cases raise the county’s total to 432 this week — already more than any full week of the pandemic with one day to go. The county’s total stands at 5,233.

On Thursday, the county reported 291 active cases, people still in their isolation period, up nearly 9 percent from Wednesday.

There were 35 people hospitalized with COVID-19, up two from Wednesday, and 11 people with suspected cases who are still awaiting test results, according to Public Health.

New data from Clark County Public Health on where people are contracting COVID-19 showed that 60 percent of cases with known exposure involved either a household member (299 cases, or 42 percent of cases) or a private social gathering with 10 people or fewer (126 cases, or 18 percent of cases).

Public Health officials interviewed 1,265 people with COVID-19 in October and were able to identify a likely source of exposure in 709 of those cases.
