NBC is going to Who-ville.

Dr. Seuss’ beloved “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” is being adapted into a two-hour musical, called “Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Musical,” that “breathes new life into this timeless story,” NBC announced Tuesday.

Matthew Morrison, who starred as teacher and glee club coach Will Schuester on “Glee,” will play the infamous Grinch, alongside Denis O’Hare as the older version of the dog Max, Booboo Stewart (“Descendants 3”) as young Max and newcomer Amelia Minto as Cindy-Lou Who.

The production will be staged at the Troubadour Theatre in London and will air Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. Eastern.

“In what has been an extremely challenging year for us all, it is an honor to bring some holiday cheer into viewers’ homes this December,” Morrison said in a statement.

The holiday classic tells the story of a reclusive Grinch who plots to steal Christmas with the help of his pup. The two, dressed as Santa Claus and a reindeer, descend on Who-ville on Christmas Eve and snag all of the Whos’ gifts and decorations. But much to his surprise, the Whos carry on, finding happiness in each other.

NBC’s version, with book and lyrics by Tim Mason and music by Mel Marvin, will feature iconic songs like “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas.”
