Letter: Columnist uses alternative facts

Jay Ambrose proclaims another alternative fact commensurate with saying the sun rises because the rooster (aka Donald Trump) crows. Jay, everyone wanted a vaccine. All sides supported its development. Democrats wanted it to be free. Democrats have been trying to keep those most affected from losing their health insurance, going bankrupt and becoming homeless. Let’s hope for the passage of a hero’s bill of sufficient size. Let’s hope for a vaccine that doesn’t need to be kept at minus 100 degrees. Let’s hope Moderna’s more stable vaccine is successful.

But we can give Trump and Jay credit for the positions they have espoused over the last nine months. By Jan. 20, 2021, over 300,000 of our brothers and sisters will have died in the cause of saving Trump’s presidency and ego. And what is almost totally ignored by Jay types is that there are probably more twice that many citizens that have had their health permanently damaged. Now there is something Jay can crow about. The sun will rise without you, Jay.
