Police are investigating a Thursday afternoon bank robbery in east Vancouver.

Officers were dispatched at 3:54 p.m. to a Chase Bank branch, 14315 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

The suspect handed a note to a bank teller, demanding money, Vancouver Police Lt. Kathy McNicholas said.

McNicholas did not disclose if the suspect was given any cash.

Police described the suspect as a white man with a heavy build, likely in his 50s. The man was wearing a green jacket and had a bandage on his right thumb.

The man left on foot, or possibly a bicycle, McNicholas said.

Police attempted to track the suspect with a K-9 but were unsuccessful.
