I found out in September that my voting rights had been suspended in 2018 because I no longer live at the address where I’ve lived for many years.
Though I’m still not satisfied with explanations of how the blunder occurred, this is about something else.
While at the county elections office to discuss this, I was asked to provide a new signature. The one on my registration card had been provided 19 years ago and over time signatures change. I could see the similarities in the two and I imagine a graphologist could, too. I wonder, though, what a layman vote counter might think. This got me concerned about what happens to those ballots invalidated by people not trained in handwriting analysis.
